Acid-Alkaline Forming Foods

The following table may be used as a general guideline to determine what foods will create an acid or alkaline condition in the body. This is significantly different from whether a food tests acid or alkaline. For instance, lemons are acidic, but create an alkaline condition in the body.  Opinions vary, but generally speaking you want a balance of about 60% alkaline and 40% acid in the body. More alkaline conditions may be required for weakened immune systems, or if combating cancer, as cancer cells cannot grow in an alkaline environment.
