Personal & Professional History

Late 2000, I retired from a twenty-year career as a software designer and developer in the education, government and financial industries. Very good at what I did, I was very bad at being a corporate employee. I wanted and needed to live my life according to my own principles and help others in the process. Not knowing what exactly to "do", however, I began my quest by vowing to stay open and let life lead the way. Some of the opportunities that came along...working with doctors and dentists and veterinarians, taught me a great deal and further convinced me that I wanted to help others...but still the question was, "how?"

During my post-corporate sojourn, much to my surprise, various people informed me that I had an intuitive, healing touch. With their guidance, introductions to and studies of various forms of vibrational medicine followed: Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Jin Shin Jitsu, Chi Gung and Bio-energetics. In 2002 I experienced something called BioSyntonie that, quite frankly, blew me and those other systems away. As far as I was concerned, I had just found my health insurance for the rest of my life. BioSyntonie, though powerful, is also a very odd system to present to grounded, intelligent people! Therefore, earning a living by it did not seem realistic. Taking the advice of a friend, I opted to get a license in something more acceptable, and engaged in a 1,000-hour program to receive my New York State license in Therapeutic Massage.

- An education that changed my life and will forever have me believing that massage is really an ancient healing modality.

Perhaps my interest in healing stems from a lifetime of illnesses.

When you are always getting bronchitis or pneumonia or asthmatic bronchitis, et. el., with no seemingly apparent reason why, Western practitioners tend to label you as a person susceptible to psychosomatic illness. I listened to these doctors and followed all of their advice, however, it seemed to me that they were only concerned with finding a label and a pill, and when done, you were cured - until the next episode, which for me was either a few weeks or at most a few months away. Fortunately, I was born with the mule-headed stubbornness of my Father, and I never stopped trying to get at the bottom of my illnesses. I even refused to accept many medications, because I didn't want to put a Band-Aid on my symptoms, I wanted to get to the root cause of them. And for many of my issues, I did. And for others, I still am. It would take many years and a book to document all that I have been through, but my desire is to take what I have learned, and be there for others.

Towards that end, I am now engaged in a number of holistic health training programs that focus on the affects of nutrition and toxicity on well being - two major areas that are at the root of our health problems.

My desire is to share healing information with those who will listen.

With much love,

Paula
